Åmot is well known for its varied
angling alternatives in the numerous rivers and lakes,
accessible throughout the year.The rivers have also made their mark on the
Municipality
and the meeting of the rivers Glomma and Rena in the administrative
centre of Rena has given the Municipality its name.

An extensive fish cultivation programme has contributed to an appreciable
improvement in fishing conditions in recent years.

fishing is well organised, and the
same fishing permit may be used over a
